GRGbanking is to install Palm Vein readers in all the recyling ATMs supplied to Ziraat bank-Turkish’s largest state bank, as per contract the two companies recently signed.
According to the contract, which is one of the biggest single customer contract in regards of biometric technology in Europe and North America, all GRG recycling ATMs supplied to the bank will be equipped with the innovative technology and 1505 pieces of palm vein readers are going to be installed in Ziraat Bank project. Beside, the Bank has currently 2.900 ATM machines and isconsidering to implement the technology on these machines by GRGbanking too.
Palm vein authentication technology uses the vascular patterns of an individual’s palm as personal identification data. Compared with a finger, a palm has a broader and more complicated vascular pattern and thus contains a wealth of differentiating features for personal identification. The technology offers contactless authentication and provides a hygienic and non invasive solution, thus promoting a high-level of user acceptance.
It is the first time for the Turkish bank to introduce this technology for customer identification. As a pioneer, Ziraat bank wants to use this innovative technologies as a way to keep ahead in competition. The Field testing of the device was carried out in December last year. GRG’s quick and integrated solution of implementing these palm vein readers has gained high trust from the bank. It only takes several weeks for GRG From the beginning of the design stage till the end of implementation.
“The successful cooperation between GRGBanking and Zaraat Banking on Palm Veins Authentication technology will help to boost the adoption of the biometric technology in the financial industry worldwide.” Said Dr. Eduardas Vaigauskas , general manager of GRG Banking Equipment(HK) Co., Limited
